Prime time to watch dancing stars! Read more.

Get ready to experience one of the most reliable meteor showers on record—the Perseids—as the Swift-Tuttle Comet makes its annual summer visit.
This year's star dance will reach its peak during the night of Aug. 11–12. Prime viewing should be around 2 a.m., although you'll be able to see an increased number of shooting stars from now through Aug. 15.
To find out more about meteors, stars, and the nighttime sky, a quick "google" will return many websites for you to explore. Two of my favorites are Meteor Showers Online and StarDate Online.
You'll discover that viewing meteor showers is simple. You don't even need a telescope. And it's easy in Lake Country to find a dark spot (away from city lights) and an open view of the night sky. Then just sit back and enjoy the show!
