In the September/October 2004 issue of Lake Country Journal Magazine, Maxine Kaiser Russell was one of four "Indomitable Lake Country Women" profiled. This summer she's one of three talented Lake Country writers—along with Doris Bergstrom and Doris Stengel—who will be honored at the 13th Annual Northwoods Art Festival & Book Fair in Hackensack, Minnesota.

Festivities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in and near the downtown Community Building. Authors will read their original works at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorites.

Meet writers, illustrators, artists, and publishers. Enjoy coffee, donuts, live readings, and live music. Then plan to do a little early Christmas shopping—you can even get autographed books and illustrations!
