Location:
Bemidji Public Library, Bemidji, MN

Kitchigami Regional Library will present writing workshops at several locations in the Kitchigami region this spring. “Beginning Memoir: Finding Your Story,” a three hour workshop, will be presented by memoirist and poet Angela Foster.

Have you thought about writing your life story or a family history? Do you have an idea for a short story or novel that you’ve been itching to write? Have you thought about putting it down on paper, but didn’t know where to begin? Guided writing exercises will help workshop participants get started. Writing basics will be discussed and ideas will be provided to help you move forward in
the creative process.

The workshop presenter, Angela Foster, is a poet and memoirist who lives in Pine City, Minnesota. Her work has been published in Minnesota Literature, Talking Stick, Dust and Fire, Poetry Midwest, and Lake Country Journal Magazine. She has received many awards, including the Carol Bly Award in Creative Nonfiction from Bemidji State University in 2004 and 2006. Angela teaches memoir writing at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis.

Classes are free to Kitchigami library card holders. Class size is limited and registration is required. Visit your local library to register.
