"In The Neighborhood"

Community Theater in Remer, Minnesota
Children perform in Remer musical.

In conjunction with the 61st Annual Remer Harvest Festival, an original musical titled In the Neighborhood will be performed Thursday and Friday, August 6th and 7th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Remer Depot.

The musical is about small-town life "as seen from the backyard." Written and directed by Therese Kunz and produced by Ever Lovin’ Sisters Theatre Company, the production includes twenty songs performed by twenty-seven community members, ages six to sixty-five. The songs are recorded and the performers lip-synch to them. Both performances are free to the public.

"This is community theater at its best," said Kunz. Ever Lovin’ Sisters Theatre Company was founded by Kunz and Susan Ugstad as the performing arts arm of Screen Porch Productions, Inc., a nonprofit community arts organization. "Our mission is to create, foster, and implement programs that provide education and opportunity in the performing, visual, and literary arts. We believe strongly that providing more opportunity for everyone to participate in the arts is an important dimension of a healthy community."

In the Neighborhood is Ever Lovin’ Sisters Theatre Company’s first full production. For more information, visit their website.
