"Arts in the Park" takes on a new meaning! Read more.

From 1930 to 1969 Ben Knebel delivered mail to patrons around the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. During those 39 years, he never missed one day of work. And, during this summer, you won't want to miss a performance of the By-The-Way Players as they revisit those days of yore.
Back then, Ben's customers had two mailboxes: one on the roadside for winter delivery and another on their docks. You see, Ben delivered the mail by boat during the summer; and that's what the plays, titled "No Fish" and "Donna Mae," commemorate. They both take place on a summer day in 1947 as Ben's boat arrives at Fairhaven Resort.
Here is the performance schedule for the rest of the summer:
July 11, 2:30 p.m., Pine River Dam, "No Fish"
July 18, 4:30 p.m., Pine river Fairgrounds, "No Fish"
July 19, 7 p.m., Crosslake Campground, "Donna Mae"
July 25, 2 p.m., Pine River Dam, "Donna Mae"
July 26, 7 p.m., Crosslake Campground, "No Fish"
Aug. 9, 7 p.m., Crosslake Campground, "Donna Mae"
Aug. 15, 2 p.m., Pine River Dam, "No Fish"
