Q: What is the mission of Lake Country Journal Magazine and your website?
A: We strive to celebrate what we cherish about Minnesota’s Lake Country, to reflect back to our central and northern Minnesota communities all the reasons we choose to live and play in our version of “God’s country.”
Q: What is LCJM's coverage area?
A: Our articles cover Minnesota’s Lake Country, from St. Cloud north and west. However, our readership extends well beyond this area. Our readers hail from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis / St. Paul throughout the state and beyond. Lake Country’s ethos has universal appeal.
Q: I haven't noticed any contest winners outside of Minnesota. Do you have out-of-state subscribers?
A: Yes, we do. In fact, we've recently had "Find It!" contest winners from California, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, and New York—and we have readers in the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia. Now that we're online, every issue of Lake Country Journal Magazine goes 'round the world on the web.
Q: How long have you been publishing LCJM?
A: More than twelve years—quite an accomplishment for an independent regional lifestyle publication.
Q: To what do you attribute LCJM’s longevity and success?
A: Our commitment has always been to provide our readers with the highest quality in editorial content, photography, and graphic design. Over the years, we’ve developed loyal readers who relish the variety of content, and advertisers who share our vision, enjoy our partnership, and appreciate our unique readership.
Q: How often is LCJM published?
A: Six times per year, every other month (January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, and November/December). You can also experience Lake Country 24/7 on our website, like you’re doing now.
Q: Where do you get the ideas for your articles?
A: Surprisingly—or maybe not—most of our story ideas come from our readers.
Q: If I have an idea for a story, how do I contact you?
A: Send your suggestion to our editor, jodi@lakecountryjournal.com. Our editorial team actually selects the articles for publication. The guidelines are simple: what would be most enjoyed by our vast and varied readers? Nothing else. Editorial space cannot be purchased.

Q: Who designs all those beautiful ads?
A: Most of them are done by our creative team of designers and writers, while others are submitted by our advertising agency clients.
Q: Is your publishing office ever open for tours?
A: Almost any time—especially if we know you’re coming.
Q: How’s the fishing?
A: The fishing is always wonderful. It’s the catching that varies a lot!
